Mr. George Wang
B.Psych- UWS
George started his practice in developmental psychology working with children, their families and in schools. He then worked in a general private practice and eventually moved into a provider in the NDIS field.
George’s wide range of exposure to working with children, schools, the general population and with people living with a physical and psychosocial disabilities means that he has a strong and wide level of experience and clinical expertise.
His favoured modalities are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Humanistic Psychology, Psychodynamic approach and useing a Trauma-informed framework. George is also a Board Approved Supervisor with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) .
When working with George, you can expect him to develop therapy goals along side you, help you explore and develop self-awareness and work at your pace to teach you the skills you need to empower yourself to reach your goals.
George’s goal is to help you get to a point where you will not need regular psychology sessions because you will have the skills and mindframe to manage yourself when in distress.
George has experience working with people who have disabilities, experienced complex trauma, have autism, intellectual disability and schizophrenia, people experiencing depression, anxiety and phobia’s, children with behaviours of concern just to name a few, and uniquely, he actually enjoys psychology assessments and writing psychology reports.
